how many people? if more than 1 definitely #2

Still if only 1 I would lean towards #2 for comfort and re-sale value.

Neither-those prices are outrageous! I could get a brand new 3 or 4 bedroom brick house with an attached garage around here for a lot less than that. Probably in the $250,000 range. And $200 /month hoa fees???? I think not. I used to pay only about $40/yr.

I would take the second floor condo. Several reasons: almost twice the size; 2nd floor is safer from breakins through windows; extra covered parking space; neighborhoods are only as safe as you are. The safest place in the world is dangerous if you don't take care.

Neither one, I like my freedom to much. How much interest? Actual cost of home after interest.Oh, the neighborhood nazi's want you to pant it what color? You can't have a bird bath, then I guess a live chicken would be out of the question. I thought this was America. Yeah, I want a little acreage, so I can grow a garden, and my critters can run free, and no one can tell me what color to paint my house. To many restrictions.
