The video card is a bit low... get something like 256MB. Since you're a gamer, you'll need a better graphics card.

The rest is good.

Canadian? Go to FutureShop, they have a deal on the BFG GeForce 7600GT for $120. Great card for that price (it's $100 off right now). They should have an AGP for that.

For the guy that recommended an AMD/ATI combo, companies starting with the first letter of the alphabet aren't necessarily the best ones. What you have now is good enough to upgrade to a gaming platform simply by buying a new vid card. If you really want, you can upgrade the mobo and keep your chip, enabling you to use PCI-E vid cards and DDR2 RAM.

Also you might want to get 1Gig of RAM or above, this will greatly improve your computer's overall performance.

This is going to show my prejudice for a Canadian company, but... ;)

Haven't heard good or bad about the board, for gaming, you might want to go AMD as they tend to operate better (2800 or higher. If you want to upgrade, you can find a good A2 AMD board and chip for about $400
See if you can find another 512, or 2 1Gb chips cheap (ie: inexpensive, not shoddy). (If you're going with a new mobo, you'll likely need DDR2.)
Dump the Nvidia crap and go ATI if you can. You can pick-up a X1600 PRO cheap (<$200). However, if your board has an integral Nvida chip set, you're more or less stuck with their crap, since they don't play nice with others. (Can take several hours for a competant tech to jigger with the BIOS and board to let you use the ATI card(s)...which can be *very* expensive!)

You can score most of what you want, if you're buying from scratch from "ati.amd.com" (with help from a parent or adult sib with plastic). Or, you can pick-up local (special order if need be - just make sure you do your research so you aren't shafted by someone trying to milk you.

Actaully a 2ghz processor is pretty damn good, most gamers don't even have somthing that fast, as for MX420 on that kind of computer- it's ok, but there is alot better cards out there that could run on your computer, here is a website that lists the cards that can run on your computer. Hope this helps
