I have found it quite a hindrance for me. I never learned how to do simple household tasks as a kid and had to learn it all by trial and error as an adult. My kids have had to do chores since they were little. We have daily and weekly chores that they have to do. I just wondered about the impact of those chores as my teens were griping about cleaning off the dining room table tonight.

I had such a tough time in the "real" world and is still by no means a "domestic goddess". It has impacted my relationship with my husband (not in a good way, I might add) I did not even know how to iron when I left school. I'm SO pro-chores... and even let my three year old make her bed now (even if it's not perfect - it still teaches her to tidy up) I also had NO idea of the value of money, because I just got what I wanted or I got as much cash as I wanted - no questions or hard work involved! YES TO CHORES!

We had a nanny who did all the housework. That sounds really posh but it wasn't, just that my mum and dad both worked.
I don't think never having had to do chores has been a hindernace as we often used to ask if we could help do them anyway - me and my brother almost ended up fighting over who could do the washing up.
Perhaps because it wasn't required of us we felt it was something we had to do - a bit like wanting to do something because it's not allowed.

I never had to do much besides keep my room clean,my mom always said that I would do my share of house cleaning, dishes, etc.,to enjoy my childhood b/c it doesn't last long.I keep a clean house, all the daily chores are done in the morning, meals are prepared,I think I turned out alright.

I would have to say that it probably has been a hindrance. I didn't get started out with good habits when I was a kid, and it can be hard to pick that up on your own.

reducing the grass, As a baby we lived on ten acres and we had to mow approximately 6 of them. i began out reducing the grass on a driving mower whilst i grow to be approximately 10 because of the fact i presumed it grow to be great. It very quickly lost it extremely is luster and grew to become right into a on a regular basis chore during the season. I actually hate it now and that i won't be able to even decrease my own grass, I actually have a backyard employer do it for me. thank you DAD!

A hindrance because I had to learn how to do it on my own mostly by reading things in magazines and books.

My siblings and I all had chores to do every day. Both our parents worked. It was a help.
