the general rule is 1 anole per 10 gallons, but you could have up to three if you provide the right environment(light, shelter, climbing material, plenty of food) you also have to be careful as to you gender combination, I recommend all females or 2 females and a male

that's a tough question but i have an answer.
last year i was able to stuff 137 bahama anoles into a 1 litre coke bottle. since there are 75.711 litres in 20 gallons, you should be able to fit approximately 1287 lizards in there. good luck!

I'd say 3 or 4, as long as you have alot of climbing space and keep the tank clean and the right temp.

humanly i would say about 5, but at most 7, but i would deter from the idea and stay with a good 4 best space and easy to see if they are all getting the food they deserve
