If you ask a medical question then I get my qualifications from 17+ years of nursing experience and a master's degree in nursing. If you are asking a question about parenting I have raised a well adjusted, happy, healthy, contributing member of society. I am not an expert in the educational sense but in the practical sense of child rearing I have practical experience and can give practical information. I do work a full time job. I manage a hospice with a staff of 12 full time employees. As far as being a "know it all" I have never professed to be one and never will because I learn something new everyday.

If you're asking a particular person, they probably won't see this question, since there are a gazillion questions on this site; they're added to fast for anyone to see them all.

Also, they don't know that you're asking them.

Finally, this isn't the way to do this, anyway. Get to the person's page, and see if they allow email or IM communication.

But if you're just asking user's in general, I have long been interested in many things.

I was undeclaired major in college for 5 years before declairing my major, and tool a lot of classes in a lot of fields.

Since then I've done a fair amount of reading, and thinking about what I've read, and seen on TV, and picked up who-knows how.

I'm also very smart.

Over the years I've begun to develop my own way of putting all this together.

Sometimes, when I see questions on this site, I am curious myself as to the answer. If it doesn't get a good answer, I find myself pondering and coming up with reasonable-sounding speculations.

These are the things that make me a know-it-all (or, know a fair amount of stuff, and am able to figure out more as I go along, but that's a longer title than know-it-all, isn't it?)

Could anyone do as I've done?

A lot of people could (I'm pretty smart, and have a knack for abstract thought, and analyzing and synthesizing ideas). Some people have done similarly to what I've done, some have done even more serious reading than I.

Some of those have come to some of the same conclusions I have, though there are things I think that I've not heard anyone else say.

A lot more people don't read much, watch crunchy documentaries, or spend a lot of time mulling over things that they've learned.

I don't, right now, have a job. I'm looking. I used to work a regular job, but will probably have to start temping soon.

Marine Engineer, with a B.S. in Religion, and hours and hours of courses with no intended degree. I have accumulated about 450 semester hours of college level work, some at the masters level. Lots of industrial, laboratory, and field work (about 42 years). And yes, I believe in creation.
