what are the risks of online auctions?

Buying risks - the item is not as described in the auction, the item is damaged, the item is not received, etc.

Selling risks - the winning bidder does not pay for item, the item gets damaged during shipping, etc.

You have to trust the person that they are giving you all the details and that they actually send the item. I know since ive joined ebay you have the great risk for identity theft and getting scammed.
