most athropologists believe it was the original human practice. Most animals do it that way. Deepest penetration, the sperm has gravity on its side, and you probably have the best chance for fertilization that way.

No, but really. It's probably the original, considering we humans are the only ones to not do it that way. I'm certainly not a sexual history expert, but I'm guessing it's how we were made, and we discovered the "missionary" style as a secondary option.

I agree with abfabmom1, it's the original way. The vagina is actually very far to the back, and doggystyle is the easiest way to have sex.
