When my parents were married they were both strongly against smoking but now my step mom smokes and my dad is starting to smoke to. It is really annoying, what should I do?

There is not a whole lot you can do but tell your Dad, and stepmom that smoking is very bad for their health, it worries you and it's nasty and you really wish they would consider NOT smoking. Beyond that, there is nothing you can do, except maybe ask them not to smoke when you are in the same room. My Dad quit for 5 years and then started again, and I told him, "you know how I feel about this." but he didn't quit again till he was diagnosed w/terminal cancer, and that's when my stepmom quit too, but she still craves them everyday.....

I totally understand because my mother and step-father do the same around my daughter. The sucky thing about it is that they don't think nor care about the problems they are causing, they can only feed there addiction, and for as long as this is a free country there is really nothing you can do about them smoking. The only thing I can say is just wash everything when they get home. Saying something, or using threats (like you can't see the girls) etc., will only make your relationship difficult. Good Luck!

All you can do is ask that they not smoke in your presence. But you can't tell them what to do in their home. You're just going to have to face the fact that they choose to smoke and as adults they have the right to make that choice good or bad, right or wrong whether it annoys you or not.

Talk to them...tell them that if they dont want to stop smoking for their own health to at least consider smoking outside of the house when possible because of the health risks of yourself.

talk to them, have a good conversation over it. express your thoughts, show how much you care about them and you don't want to see them suffering from lungs cancer. encourage them to quit smoking for their own goods, not forcing them. find some good article on smoking and place on his work desk, so he will accidently read it when he works. have yourself a body check, which include an Xray on your lungs, you probably have a slightly "clouded" lungs since you are living with 2 smoker. show your dad tht Xray film, tell him he's harming you! ( it happen to me, my gf had an xray and doctor is asking her if she lives with a smoker. i've quit smoking since then, because i don't want to bring harm to her and myself anymore)

You cannot do anything about it, unfortunatly. You are only responsible for your actions, not those of your parents. Just let this reinforce your belief of not smoking and don't start up yourself.

talk to them and tell them how much it bothers you. besides that, there's nothing you can do. you can only change yourself, not others.
