I'm fifteen, 5'1", and weigh about 83 pounds. I think that over the past seven months, I developed anorexia; I used to weigh 95-98 pounds and didn't really care much about how many calories I consumed. But now all I think about is food and how much I'm eating. I constantly worry that I'm eating too much and its depressing me; I'm always in the mood to cry or lash out at someone because I feel I ate too much. What used to be normal or not even a concern is the BIGGEST deal to me now when it comes to eating anything...even a bite out of a sandwich. You're only a kid once and my parents won't always be here, so I need to refocus myself, right, and worry about these things when I'm on my own with no one around. Am I thinking correctly by vowing to go back to being carefree? I've stopped menstruating, so is it vital for me to gain weight?

You are too young to worry about your weight. You have a very small frame, but you do need to put some pounds back on. A healthy weight for you would be 95-100lbs. If you have stopped menstruating, then it is critical for you to begin eating. Your body is begging for nourishment. Your body is still developing, you need vitamins, milk, water, vegetables, and junk food too!!!! Enjoy your youth while you still have it!!!!
Please....if things get out of hand.....tell your parents and go to the doctor.

What is vital Is that you tell your parents right away! Please Please Please get some help NOW! I have no idea what plans for the future you may have, but you need a healthy body to do it in. I have an eating disorder also. I'm 30 years old. I know what it is like to think about every bite of food that goes in your mouth. I know what its like to worry about your weight all the time. Please do not spend the next 15 years of your life hiding this. Getting sick when you think people arn't looking. Crying your self to sleep. Wondering what men think of you of if you are good enough. I know where you are. So I wont tell you " just stop thinking about it." or "Just eat it's no big deal" I know it is. I could get worse. Talk to your parents and tell them EVERYTHING! If you are afraid? Tell the counselor at school, a teacher, someone. I will be praying for you. There is hope And a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Sweetheart you don't need to worry about your weight. my heart goes out to you because I know this has to be hard for you. I don't know if you have talked to your mom but if you haven't you need to which I'm sure you know that. If you feel like you can't talk to her then talk to a councilor at school or something.
I know what size you would because we are the same height,
i am not fat by any means at 106 pounds you should not worry about how much you eat. I don't and I stay skinny.
You are right you need to refocus I agree with you, I don't know what made you start feeling like you need to eat this way but you need to think about your life and your family. you have so much penitential, you are a young woman who has the rest of your life to live out grow up go to collage get married have a beautiful family. there is so much in life that is wonderful and enjoyable.
please don't worry about you weight it's not important the people that need to worry about there weight are the ones that are a couple hundred pounds over weight, I have never know anyone that has or had anorexia but i know it's nothing to play with.
Sweetheart please get some help talk to your mom or a close friend or some family. I will keep you in my prayers.
please talk to someone it will help i promise!!!!!!
i hope i could help you in some way. if we could talk i would be your friend and try to help you!!! you are making the right choice to refocusing !! good luck

Your parents need to know about this NOW! You might be hiding it by wearing a lot of clothing. You're not well, sweetie. The disease you are suffering is very tricky. It has taken over your rational mind. You need help. It is very vital for you to gain weight. You need a doctor's and psychiatrist's help to do so. If you have stopped having periods you have already entered a very dangerous state of health. Please tell your parents NOW so you can recover and go back to living a carefree.

hi there muffins.....i, at one point in my life used to be just like you. so i can really relate.....i used to only eat lettuce and i would weigh myself 5 times a day. i got over it by going to counseling. you have to really want the help if you want to overcome this. i promise that counseling will help you also maybe a self help group, too.
the reason you are not having your period is because you ARE anorexic.
yes it is vital for you to gain weight. and if you don't you'll be very sorry. the 1st thing that i noticed besides lack of period was my hair started to fall out. and this condition will snowball if you do not do something about it. the 2nd thing i noticed was my teeth
started getting cavities. and i had never had a filling in my life.
i began having severe mood swings then i developed ocd.
ocd is obsessive compulsive disorder.
but i do not want you to despair. if i overcame this, then i believe that you can too. and your thinking is correct by vowing to go back to being care free.
i believe in you. i know you can overcome this disorder...just take it one day at a time. and one hour at a time if need be.
just know that this can be conquered. i know you can do this.
like i said, if I can overcome it === you can do it too.
Good luck and God bless and keep you safe and happy and healthy. i will pray for you. just try to keep a positive attitude,ok?
CAREFREE RULES
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR YOU TO DO RIGHT NOW IS GO TO YOUR PARENTS. are they understanding??
then to to a teacher or school counseler.
THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS TELL YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR EVERY MORNING THAT YOU ARE #1
and you rule!!!

You need to let your parents aware that you're depressed right now, it's very hard to find a cure by your self in this situation. 5'1, 83 lbs is very light . My lil sis is also 5'1, but she weights 100lbs- very thin. You said that you stopped menstruate, it's a sign for annorexia. But no one can diagnose for you unless it's a doctor. The bottom line is find an adult around that can monitor your situation.

you are very much underweight and probably aren't getting enough nutrients. it is vital regardless of whether or not you are mentrating to gain weight and to start eating. talk to your parents about this problem so you can get the help you need. it's no easy fix to this even if you start eating it will be very easy for you to revert back to the not eating.
