How can I retrieve a metal belt dropped into the upstairs ductwork by my grandson?

I cannot see the belt, but I know that it is in there.

Use one of those magnetic retrievers that extend out. If that is too short, tape it to a stick.

You can also snake a shop vac hose down the vent. If the hose isnt long enough you can get more at the home store nearest you.

If the magnet doesn't work close off as many vents as you can and see if you can blow it back up.
