The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium in Columbus Ohio is awesome. They have the best Manatee exhibit I have ever seen. All of their animals are in enclosures that mimic their natural habitat. I LOVE the Penguin exhibit as well. If you have the chance, you definitely should go. It is a great place to take the kids. They even have a petting zoo for them!

The best overall zoo the the U.S. would have to be the San Diego Zoo in California. Not only is it nationally renown, but it is one of the best zoos in the world. The famous Jack Hanna is the zoo's curator and one of the world's leading zoologists. He is often seen on David Letterman and Jay Leno. The zoo is reasonably priced and well worth the trip. If you are on the east coast of the U.S., you should stop by the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. It is one of the few places that you can see a panda and has many rare attractions. It is also rated as one of the finest in the world.

Many American zoos have great reputations and would be worth visiting. The best known internationally is the San Diego Zoo which thoroughly deserves its reputation but many others are first class.

The San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. The park is particularly nice because the animals have more living room!

Cleveland Zoo is really nice; Toronto Zoo (in Canada, but still close to the US) is a really good one too.
