The teacher might give you an annoying lecture after class, or report you to the principle, I guess.

It depends.
Past behavior plays a part, and the level of rudeness also plays a role. I've done anything from ignore it, if minor and not disruptive to kicking a student out of the school, in extreme cases (I've had about 2-3).
Let me also put it this into the mix:
We're just trying to do our job. At times, we want to be there as much as you do, and we're as interested in the material as you are. You don't like to be disrespected, and neither do we. We may not be teens anymore, but we're still people.
Yes, I've had jerky teachers who had it coming, but I've also seen teachers go off on students that just pushed the teacher's buttons and had it coming.

Depends on the teacher.
Some will go nuts, others just threaten.
Take my math teacher for instance.
She yells at me everyday. Well not like yelling, but she is always telling me to behave or she will email my parents. She doesn't.
Don't get me wrong, she's a cool teacher, but sometimes we mimick her behind her back just because she is from Texas.
I don't get in trouble as much as my friends though, cuz i'm pretty good at pulling out the halo last second. hehe
Now my english teacher, he likes to YELL. And throw expo markers.
He is a totally awesome teacher though. lol

The consequences can be in line with your student handbook. It would be under insubordination. They should not punish you more than is outlned. Will they...most likely not. The punishment/consequences that you should be concerned with are those of a good parent.

Oh, the good old days when they would just smack your hands or behind with a yard stick, and then that was that. Now you have to worry about all sorts of punishments, from having to do extra homework to being suspended, all depending on how you were rude and how the teacher and principal wish to handle the matter.

You may get detention or sent to the office, but if you learn where a teacher cracks you can piss her off until just before she gets mad at you. In other words you have to know when to stop.

Depends on the teacher.
It can be anything from a lecture, pop quiz, extra homework, to suspension.
Don't be rude to any teacher.
