I am doing a paper for my english class, and I know that in Ohio, gay marriages are not seen as legit/legal. But, are gays & lesbians allowed to adpot, or are they only allowed to foster? Any help would be awesome, thanks loves!

In Ohio adoption is permitted by a single individual, but second parent adoption is not allowed. The laws of Ohio do not clearly prohibit joint gay adoption.
In 2006 a bill was proposed to ban all adoptions and foster parenting by gays or lesbians, but the bill did come to a vote.

It's still legal for a gay man or woman to adopt a child in Ohio. "Reformation Ohio" is working to change that, but I highly doubt that they'll succeed especially in the near future with how much more gay-friendly the state government has become this month.

In some states, a gay parent can foster or adopt a child and the other parent can be listed as a guardian, but not as a legal parent of the child. This is the case in my state, Iowa.

Yes, in many places we are allowed to adopt. Children raised by same-sex couples are just as happy, healthy and intelligent as children born into heterosexual households, and no child turns out automatically gay. I know people who were raised by lesbian or gay parents and they are wonderful, intelligent people who are not abusive or screwed up in the head. In fact, the ones who grew up with a mother and a father seem to be the psychos who are all messed up and go around hating and fearing people.

i think children have the rigth to be adopted by non homosexuals
i mean imagine how would it effect the child if he saw what they do!!!!
