For one thing, studying isn't really ever "easy". It typically takes time and effort. There are some ways to make it a little more interesting than just reading out of your textbook though. A study partner is usually helpful. Do you have a friend in your Spanish class that you could meet so that you could help each other study? If you don't like reading from your book, flash cards with vocabulary words and the like on them are helpful for some people also. Listening to music or watching movies that contain some of the vocabulary that you are currently studying is also an interesting idea, although I don't know how helpful that would be for a Spanish 1 student. Incorporating your spanish vocabulary into your everyday speech whenever possible is also a good idea, as the repitition helps the words to "stick" in your mind. No matter which method you choose though, it's going to require some of your time and effort.

best way is to talk to someone in as much spanish as you can with the occasional english. If you don't have anyone to talk to in spanish, i would suggest making flash cards for vocabulary and making weird things to remember like songs or silly phrases to remember specific things you can't remember.
