An investigation of Obama by political opponents within the Democratic Party has discovered that Obama was raised as a Muslim by his stepfather in Indonesia. Sources close to the background check, which has not yet been released, said Obama spent at least four years in a so-called Madrassa, or Muslim seminary, in Indonesia.

What is there to deny? His father left and divorced his mother when he was two - he was named after his father - first, middle and last name, so that's how he got stuck with that. From the time he was 6-10 years old he attended both Catholic and Muslim schools. He never claimed or was raised under any particular religious affliation until later in life, when he became a Christian and was baptized (for the first time) as an adult. He attends the Trinity Church of Christ in Chicago on a weekly basis with his wife and kids. Just exactly what Muslim "background" are you attempting to connect him with? He admitted to experimenting with pot and cocaine in his teenage years and has also described how he rose above that and denounced drugs. Wow - what a horrible example for our youth huh? The only hypocrisy I've seen is from those who continue to slander him by painting him as some sort of undercover Islamist who is only masquerading as a Christian and an American to complete some mission that only they can feature in their conspiracy filled heads. They are hypocrites because they sling mud and act as though it isn't the over-dramatized crap it really boils down to.

exciting seize 22 you have created. If he did no longer deny that he grow to be a Muslim, that would mean that he grow to be muslim. If he DOES deny he's Muslim then he's protesting too a lot and as a result truly a muslim. Hmm, it extremely is totally honest.

You would be better served to investigate the smear jobs before you propagate them. Mr. Obama has made no bones of the fact he went to a public school in Indonesia, but that the school not only had Muslims, it also had Christians, Buddhists, and Confucians. In any event, he is not denying being a Muslim, because he is not a Muslim. Simple, see?

He isn't. He wrote a book where he talked about his varied learning experiences. There is no "background." The fact is his mother enrolled him in the best schools she could. And because they lived in Indonesia, one of those schools happened to be a Muslim school. In case you didn't know Indonesia has a very large Muslim population. Doesn't it stand to reason that many of the schools have Muslim affiliations?
His mother wasn't some close minded fanatic. She wanted her son to get the best education, which also includes understanding many cultures and understanding one's own history.
Obama is a Christian. Pure and simple. Please get over the manufactured hoopla.

As an adult he's converted to Christianity.
What exacxtly is it you have against him other than the fact he had no control over who his parents were or what THEIR religious beliefs were?
John F. Kennedy wasn't Joe Kennedy. The sins of the father.......

If Kerry can deny his Jewish background, why can't Obama deny his Muslim background?

Because most Americans are prejudice against anyone that has a different color skin, religion or belief then theirs. Our founding fathers would be ashamed of our intolerance to different beliefs.
