The local police can tell you what the laws are in your state. You should remind the caller that you don't owe them until the 23rd. Ask them to stop calling you on the 20th, and if it does not stop, you will contact the police to file harassment charges. Make sure you check with the police first. You don't want to make your bark bigger than your bite.

Working for the police department I handle a situation like this a lot. There is not a statutory limitation on harassment charges. If is extremely helpful when you go to file these charges that you know the person. The best thing for you to do is contact your local police department and/or get a temporary restraining order against this person. If the judge issues you an injunction and this person keeps up the harassment they can be arrested and prosecuted bu the state attorney.

The right person to handle this is your lawyer. Based on what you said, you have clear grounds to file charges. If you don't have a lawyer (i.e. if it was a small-claims court) get one. If that's not an option, go to the court that handed down the original decision and ask them what to do.
PS: You also have grounds for a hellava lawsuit if you can document this jerk harassing you by getting him on tape or in front of witnesses (think about investing in a speakerphone, for instance). :)

What i would do in your situation is get a phone book out and start calling lawyers. Ask them if u can get some free legal advice and let them know the situation. They will point you into the proper directin and where you should go.

Get an answering machine, don't pick-up your phone when they call.
They will eventually stop calling, or, when they call, turn up the volume on your radio to LOUD and put the telephone receiver next to the radio, so they hear the loud music.
