First, understand that Meredith Viera and Matt Lauer are not journalists.

A true journalist writes for newspapers and magazines, but isn't the TV personality who shares the news with us every evening.

If you want to be a TV news anchor, that's a totally different job.

A journalist would study writing or literature in school, while a TV news anchor would study broadcasting.

My best advice - believe in yourself, and be prepared to work hard. Regardless of what career you choose, this will be important, if you want to succeed.

The first piece of advice I would give is to ;earn to read and write correct English. Stop using shout cuts such as u and ur instead of you and your. I'd learn to capitalize the names of persons about whom I was writing, such as Matt Lauer and Meridith Viera. If you want to be a journalist, learn to write like one!!

Wait until you have a complete education before you start thinking that CBS or NBC will be on your doorstep asking you to do the morning news. Look at Katie Couric and what she had to do in order to be chosen to do a news cast.

What that person should do is talk to his/her school advisors and see if they have a good Journalism program at that school. Or go to a school were they have a good Journalism program.
