Do you know any way to go about it -- without killing an animal?
e.g. zoos that sell hides of dead animals, etc?

If you want a rug, you can get cowhide stencilled to look like anything, tiger included. The stencilling is done with hair dye so it's permanent.
Buying an actual tiger-skin rug is near-impossible. U.S. regulations prohibit the sale of the skin of endangered species, and the import of exotic animals is tightly managed and changes based on the country of origin.

well someone had to kill the tiger...and since they are endangered, I don't think they are available for sale. You can only view them at museums and such.
