Do you think that the adverts on some channels are louder than the programmes? Often think that they are. Anyone know where to complain to?

I've noticed that, too. I don't think you can complain to anyone..just turn the volume down. :) But I think they're louder because they're selling something and they want you to hear it.

Are you asking about the volume on the teli. Advertisements are louder than Programming? There are many other tricks they use to reach the subconscious. Like the boo hoo script that gets you in a somber mood, then a commercial pops up downloading all kinds of mind F*^*.

lol i believe there was a big controversy about the ads being too loud, so they said that they cant make the ads any louder. instead, they just turned down the volume of the show and kept the ads at the same volume.
and yeah, i know what you mean. like that stupid headon commercial and all of those car dealerships with their screaming and beeping and sirens. its annoying. try calling your cable provider or the station. they probably wont do anything though...
i've noticed that the cable provider's commercials are the loudest (comcast)

Actually NO. The human ear only hears a few frequencies so what they do is eliminate the extreme high and low ends of these frequencies to allow them to make them within the FCC limits but get the most attention.

You're not crazy...they are louder.
Most people walk away during commercials so the advertisers want to make sure you stilll "listen" to the ads. This also signals recorders to stop recording when they hear this loud signal. If your machine edits commercials out of recordings.

That is so you can hear them while you run into the kitchen to grab a quick snack.
