first,find out the source from which the rumor spread from.
ask people how they feel about you regarding the rumor.
be yourself and don't be disturb,always put it at the back of your mind that no matter what you do,people will have different opinion to it.
don't mind them.

It's spelt RUMOR...
Here's what you do, don't give a **** about what other people think, that's what ADULTS do. All that sounds like is a bunch of high school bull**** to me.

make light of it.... laugh it off. If you get all defensive it will only look as though the rumor is accurate
