What is the difference between Transitions and Prepositions or are they the same thing?

Because lets say above (a transiton) isn't it also a preposition.

Let's see - there are nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections as parts of speech. What the Hell is a 'transition'?

transitions words connect the sentences in a paragraph. Voyages in English text.
