The archangel of St-Marc in Italy. The Sphynx does not have the head of a lion it only has the body of a Lion but the head of what look like a Pharaohs, at first, but not a lion's head..

greater durable than i initially thought. a hippogriff has the top of an eagle physique of a horse and wings a griffin has the top of an eagle, a physique of a lion and wings. a lammasu sounds somewhat close yet thats a human headed winged horse or lion style legendary creature. i've got seen a pair of photos of something referred to as a leogriff, yet i think of that distinctive creature is an invented legendary creature. Or i could say you need to call it a pseudo-griffon or you need to purely make up your guy or woman call

A chimera has a lions head - but I think they have a goats head as well! A lot of monsters have lion bodies though - griffons, hippogrifs, manticors etc....
