I recently needed to do this research for myself.

If your budget is less then $100, then I'd just buy a name brand (gives better warranty support) that fits your needs.

If your budget is higher either HP or Dell printer (hp 5610 or dell 966).

If you want more than one computer to print, make sure you get one with networking capabilities.

From your question i assume you want an all-in-one (Printer&Scanner). It's hard to pick one because there are many good ones. I would suggest you do a little research first. HP, Canon and Epson are all good choices if you want to know. Do not get a Lexmark.

Honestly, there are too many to just list one. My advice to you is research the cost of ink as much as the price of the printer. Ink is where they make the money.

In my pinion a color laser printer is the best and in the long run (2 yrs or so) the cheapest to operate.
I actually have this one at the house for the family. 8 computers in all.

I say a Lexmark X2350, because the Quality is AMAZING, speed not bad, scan AMAZING, only ONE ink cartridge to buy (the number is #1) and Ink is very cheap, one cartridge is about $28 Canadian and it'll last you a few months on moderate prinitng (2-3 pgs/day).

This one is pretty good, in fact all of lexmark printers are good. I've had great luck with them.
