What is weird is a few of these answers that you have gotten.

I have lived in Colorado all my life, 34 yrs, and half of it I lived in areas surrounding Parker. Growing up, I knew many people who lived there, they chose to live in Parker because they had horses and/or other animals, wanted more land, and liked to be away from the city in a rural-feeling, close knit community.

I don't think people there are weird, they just want something different for their lives, away from the metro area.

I do agree about it being the fastest growing area, it's almost becoming the new Highlands Ranch.

I have lived in Castle Rock and go to Parker all the time and have friends who live in Parker. I don't find the people there any different ( weirder) than anywhere else. If you're moving , check out my town. http://townofcastlerock.org

The whole Denver area is weird, how do you differentiate between Parker weird and Louisville weird? These days, the outlying areas are full of young, self absorbed, self anctified, over indulgent, better-than-you, punks. Maybe this is what you're referring to.

To people who live in the city, Parker seems like a wierd place to call home.

First off, why would you want to live so damn far away from everything?

Second, what is so appealing about miles and miles of nearly identical tract homes sprawling across the landscape like mold on bread?

And finally, why so many giant mega-churches?

My brother lives in Parker and insists that its a great place to live, but he can't answer any of these questions when I ask.

I think people who live there like it because they are never, ever presented with any challenges to their worldviews. They are all carbon-copies of one another.

Like so many towns in Colorado, Parker is made up of young, hippy, white kids. Many of these kids are from out of state and they often have trust funds. Lots of grateful dead stickers on SUVs they didn't pay for. But sometimes they can be a good time.

I know several people who live in Parker, incl. my nephew & his wife & all are on the right side of normal. I have heard it has the highest divorce rate in the country although one of the fastest growing areas in the country too. You would have to explain further on what stories you have heard to characterize weird?
