No,I don't think the U.S. and iran will go to war. With the additional forces there still is not enough American troops there to have an effect on Iran, also as soon as the Americans have boots on the ground,Iran would send nukes on Israel,I just think more deplomacy is necessary, and if it comes to it,bunker buster bomb Iran's nuclear facilities.but remember the Iranian leader has thousands of suicide bombers just itching to blow stuff up, it is a very sticky situation.Saudi Arabia is also not too friendly with Iran,if they cut off Iran's oil imports then Iran is screwed. There are other options besides all out war with Iran.Iran is not doing well economically either, sanctions against their industries will help get Iran in line also.I don't know if you realize this but,The Iranian people are not like their leaders. They do not like their government .

Probably not, but if we do I don't think it will be anything like the situation in Iraq. I seriously doubt we'd commit ground troops to Iran for three reasons:

1) We already have so many troops in Iraq that are needed there
2) Our main goal would be to only take out their nuclear plants
3) We have superior air power (bomber jets + Navy Tomahawk missiles).

I think that the most likely scenario is that Amenijad is going to get voted out of office first. It looks like the people of Iran are pretty unhappy with his performance as well, and many consider it reckless. Another president in Iran would likely deescalate the situation, I would think.

The U.S. "plans" to send 20,000 additional troops....that is if Bush gets his way. It is not yet been finalized (as far as I know... unless I missed something on the news tonight)

War seems to run more ramped as each day passes. And yes, We will most likely go to war with Iran or bomb them.

I think it is most likely they will. The US does not want Iran warheads to fall into the hands of its enemies... a medium sized boat+ a dark moonless night+ a bomb+ an open maritime city like nyc.

Eventually either the US or Israel will take out the nuclear plants there.

I hope so, too. They need to be dealt with sooner rather than later.

It seems so, or perhaps Israel will attack Iran first.
