Give me a sec,pardner!
Bat Masterson. http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/WWdodge.htm
Now, the important stuff...Marshal Matt Dillon♥ was the fictional Marshal of Dodge City. He was tall, gorgeous and honorable. I have personally loved him for 52 years. I've written a couple of songs about him.
I am a nanny to a 6 year old boy, same age as me when Gunsmoke first came on tv. I use Matt as an example of what it means to be a decent person...my young charge understands....he smiles at my girlish giggles and enjoys the show quite a bit.
I entered a contest rt after I first got a computer and was learning to use it...last Spring. If I won the contest, I would have received a call from James Arness...alas, I didn't win. I based my entry on the fabulous episode, "Matt's Love Story." He actually had a love affair. Of course, he had amnesia. Do you know there was an uproar among many viewers when this came on. They thought it showed disloyalty to Miss Kitty and a "chink" in Matt's armor. That's how popular the show was!!!!! If I had played the role of the woman that Matt KISSED (! ), I would still be in the ICU recovering from over-exposure to happiness.
This is hysterical! It is Marshal Dillon with a VOICE OVER!!!!!
In real life or tv life, James Arness/Matt Dillon would never use this language....they/he are too much of a gentleman.

I'm baaaack!! "Gunsmoke" was on tv for 20 years and is the longest running drama in the history of tv!! After all those years, Matt Dillon and Dodge City are synonymous.
MORE EDITING: Errol Flynn http://imdb.com/title/tt0031235/plotsummary
STILL MORE EDITING:
Regarding the RADIO SHOW,"Gunsmoke," : "The recipient of several broadcasting awards, Gunsmoke had been extensively researched by its writers, who injected such a sense of veracity into the scripts that the head of the Chamber of Commerce of Dodge City is said to have written the producers inquiring as to what years Matt Dillon served as sheriff."http://www.bookrags.com/Gunsmoke

LAST EDIT: as far as I know, Marshal Matt Dillon was the only law on "Gunsmoke." There were real life sheriffs of the real Dodge, but Matt Baby♥ ruled the airwaves.
I'd have a " BAKE OFF with Miss Kitty ANY DAY, ANY TIME!!
Be caaaaa usss.....I love Matt...DILLON ROCKS.
(I used to take pictures of him off the tv!!)

I don't believe that there was a sheriff of Dodge because Dillon live there and he was a U.S. Marshall.

Ever considering the fact that i became little and til on the present time i've got constantly reported as my mum "Mummy" and my dad "Daddy". purely because of the fact they on no account spoke back to "mum"/"dad". and it is often caught, i assume. same with my siblings, too. I swear each and every time my mom calls me at artwork, and that i answer announcing "hi, mummy", i'm getting the main strangest looks from my artwork colleagues. They constantly discover that hilarious and in many circumstances take the mic. and that i will actual see why this is humorous lol yet, this is not in any respect replaced, and that i doubt this is going to. father and mom will constantly be Mummy and Daddy. And in particular because of the fact they gained't respond to something from their toddlers! : )
