PRENUPTIAL. It is an agreement that says that if the marriage were to fail, the parties would part ways with what they came into the marriage with.

For ex.

If a guy with 10 million dollars before he wed, would keep what ever he had before the marriage. The wife would be able to claim any pre-marriage assets.

Women can have them written to protect their assets as well.

A prenuptial agreement or antenuptial agreement, commonly abbreviated to prenup or prenupt, is a contract entered into by two people prior to marriage or civil union. The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for the division of property should the couple divorce and any rights to spousal support during or after the dissolution of marriage.

Basically a prenuptial is an agreement between both marrying parties detailing whats whose in case of a future divorce. Both parties design it and sign it prior to the wedding. This is supposed to prevent problems on down the road, hopefully. Many courts no longer honor them as things change over time and some are no longer deemed fair to both parties so whether theyre worth it or not is personal preference.

Prenuptual agreement is an agreement both parties sign before marriage that stipulates how to handle certain matters (mostly financial) in the case of them splitting up.

The party who didn't want to sign should get over it and have their own attorney look over the agreement to make sure everything's fair, then sign with confidence.

That's where you agree that if in the event of divorce, according to agreement, this is what each of you get. It usually comes into play when one or both partners have a lot of money.

It just says if they get divorced then they cannot take nothing that wasnt theres when they came into the marriage. Like if the man had a million dollars and the girl had a penny coming into the marriage, if they sign the prenup then it says if they get divorced then he keeps his million and she gets her penny.
