My husband and I collect nice time pieces. We currently have a two tone oyester, gold chronograph Blancpain, IWC Portofino, moonphase Glasshutte, Royal Oak Audemars Piguet, and small gold Monte Blanc (this is our only quartz watch). We see them as investments and have actually made money on some of the other watches that we sold. If you take care of them and buy only nice watches, these things can be the down payment on a house! :) (We have become huge snobs and probably will never own a quartz watch again!)

I did have that problem when I was younger. I personally think it happens with people who tend to have obsessive complusive behaviour. In other words, if you do not continue to buy watches then you will find another hobby or tendency to take to the limit. For instance, I stopped with the watches and got into coin collecting and it went out of control...then it was work...I would work for 80 hrs a week for 3 years.Etc Etc...Take note if this happens to you and try to moderate your tendencies.

LOL I'm not alone!!!
I never wear a watch, never. But then about a year ago I started to add Bugs Bunny watches to my Bugs Bunny collection. Soon they became the center of my collection. Currently I have 107 of them, no plastic or female ones. Just nice leather band Bugs Bunny watches. Armitron, Fossil, etc. all in glass watch cases for display.
When I see one on ebay I don't have, I get it, no matter the price, just to have it in the collection. I've wondered where this odd habit/addiction has came from. Still yet to figure it out and still don't wear any of them.

Yes. I love expensive wrist watches. My wife doesn't let me near watches. I have a Movado, two Bulovas, an Accutron and two vintage Rolexs. I love watches. I'm looking to get a Cartier Tank. Don't tell my wife.

It's a simple hoarding behavior. It's just best to be aware of it and if you are constantly regretting your watch purchases, then it's something you have to worry about. Hoarding behaviors are among the most common compulsions. It's nothing to worry about unless it causes you to do things you regret.

No, but I'm sure there is a reason you are doing it. Perhaps stress? Just ask yourself that question...unless you like the fact that you can't stop buying them! ^_^
