You need a beaker of strong acid, like dilute sulphuric acid, a voltmeter and electrodes made of various metals. You put pairs of electrodes in the acid and measure the voltage differences between them. Keep some bicarbonate of soda solution handy in case you spill acid.

You need to look at the Galvanic Series (google it), which is a list of the potential differences for various metals. Also try looking up "Standard electrode potential" on Wikipedia. Keep in mind that some metals will be more expensive or difficult to obtain than others.
