you probably have a spoilt wire. or pin.
to prevent this from happening,
try not to bend the wire too much, it will break the copper wire inside which is very very thin.
pull the pin not the wire when you wanna unplug your headphone.
when you put the Ipod in you pocket, don't bend the wire harsh. let it have some space for free play.

Either your plug isn't making a good connection to the jack (unlikely as both your computer and ipod have the same problem) or the connection close to the jack is bad (most likely since you say twisting it makes it sound better). Headphone cables are quite delicate since they have to be made light. If you put too much stress on them - such as yank on them or coil them up too tightly the wires inside will break. The next set you buy, treat them gently - or buy some cheapo $5 ones at the corner drug store.

I think that means that something's wrong with the connection between the headphones and whatever you're plugging in to. The same thing happened to me with my old cruddy MP4 player from a company that nobody in America's ever heard of, and at first I thought it was my earbuds. I tried two other pairs of earbuds lent to me by some other people, who swore they worked fine, and they did on other players, but they didn't work on mine. That's what clued me in that my player was not connecting with the headphones. I dunno if that's what's happened with your iPod and computer, but you might want to get them looked at. Try using some friends' headphones to see if they make any difference. Don't spend any more money on the headphones if they aren't the problem. Good luck...

You busted them when you turned the music so high they burned out or some one crushed them or there is a chance that you put them in something that has tomuch power.

The best option for you is take it back to the store with your reciept and ask for exchange.

And Don't play music to loud cuz it will damadge the earphone..
