Morality should be used sparingly in any conflict. War is neither pretty nor moral. It is, sadly, sometimes the only solution to a dire event.
We had a saying in Vietnam that I think is applicable today: Kill 'em all and let God sort it out.
Of course, in this day and age of PC nickle-diming, I should point out that innocents do fall under that catagory.

It is morally wrong to keep out of a conflict if you have the ability to help those that are unable to help themselves but refrain from doing so based on self-righteous principles.

martin luther king said that in the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends. if there is something wrong going on right in front of you and you can stop it, ignoring it is wrong, but when you know that your input will not help, it is fine to keep quiet. Sometimes getting into conflicts that have nothing to do with you just adds fuel to the fire.

Depends on your cultural group or religion. Shakers were pacifists and I believe were mostly conscience objectors, I believe the Amish also don't serve in the military., They believe regardless there is no war that can justify killing.
