Children seek to emulate the actors they see on TV and in the movies. Portrayal of drug use by these actors will be seen by the children as OK, since their idols do it. Small children (and some not-so-small ones as well) sometimes have a hard time telling fantasy from reality. That's why GOOD PARENTING is so important!

Seeing drug use at first might be a bit of a shock. Seeing it over and over again (as with any evil) will desensitize their minds and make it appear more normal like or accepting. Something that is a big deal will no longer be.

It never shows the downside to abusing drugs. Teens don't realize that there are consequences to doing drugs. Teens see it on TV and think that it's ok and it won't hurt them.

oh look, that person on TV (movies, etc) uses drugs and its cool - and they dont have consequences - they dont go through withdrawls or have to steal the family retirement fund to use - and they have freinds and a nice place to live - it couldnt possibly hurt me the same way it does in those anti-drug propogada pieces produced by the government.
