I dont know theyre identity for sure, I've called the cops, they arent really doing anything.
The people breaking in arent causing damage, and they arent taking things, but I really dont want them in there.
Theyre doing it while I'm away (like four in the morning). The car is locked, but theyre getting in and I dont know how...
Basically, as far as I know, theyre just looking through and sitting in there (It's cold, so they may just be running the heater)
How can I get even? I've thought of putting pins in the seats, and supergluing towels, and hoping they sit on them..
Yes I realize It's a fairly immature way to deal with it, but it seems like a good way to get even. and one that dosent overtly injure them, or something illegal
Dont answer by saying call the cops, I've done this, the cops arent doing anything.

I have a car alarm, but It is one tht you have to press to set off, gee, thats the most useful creation ever..

I know they we're there because I caught them, duh =P
I WAS home one day, and my dog started barking, a looked out and called the cops, the cops picked up a drunk driver on the way. -_-

if they don't take anything, or break anything then how do you know that someone has been in your car?
set up a video recorder DUH!
when you catch them on tape, take it to the police. evidence is evidence...they will HAVE to arrest that person. if they don't help. take the tape to your local news station and tell them the cops won't help. they'll kick start an investigation. the police don't like bad press.

Wow... yikes... that's a good question... I like your ideas, immature or not. If it gets them outta there, then who cares?
Try this for starters - get you one of those little alarm thingys that are made for house windows, and hook it up to the inside of the door and doorjam. That way, when they get in, it will scare them, and they may run away...
Better yet - (I like this idea!) If you don't have one, borrow a dog preferably a BIG one, and leave him in it all night. You may have to leave a small cigg lighter heater or something for him, but overall I highly doubt the people breaking in would come back... Then once they realize your technique, get a stuffed dog and a barking noise maker and make them think the dog's still there....
Just a thought..... If I come up with anything better, I'll let ya know... lol
And, sorry about your car.... I know it's gotta suck being violated like that....

Hide in the car one night and have a mask or something on and then jump out and scare them bad or you could try remotly starting the car and I dont know if you cna do this but remotly move the car around. If theyve seen that movie with the car that kills people theyll get scared and wont come back.

leave a camera in the car or garage. use car alarm. hide in back seat with gun. if u catch them on tape u can sue them. scare the **** out of them with a gun. lay down in the back seat so they dont see u. gun dosent have to be real. also i sugest a mask. or lock the doors while there inside and talk to them in a deep voice through a walkie talkie and threatin them. they will be scared. or while there locked inside creep up on them and scream and pound on the windows. e mail me results at borch2008@yahoo

If you booby trap your car it is considered assault I wouldn't do it. Whoever is breaking into your car can sue you and win sadly! Or if you think they are breaking into your car for heat maybe leave them a blanket? I mean if they are that needy maybe you should show some compassion and leave them something else to stay warm with? Maybe a note to go with it some warm soup? I know it sounds silly but they must be hurting to be cold enough to break into your car to stay warm right?

I would get the doors re-keyed, and don't pass out any more keys, and keep your keys where you can see them or under your pillow. I'd say, you would have solved it at that.
Someone broke into my car in Minneapolis, and cleaned it out. Everything was still there, just sitting on the sidewalk beside it. Go figure.

Wire it electrically somehow and have the door lock when they get inside.
Get a kill switch they cannot start the car. alot of things to do. good luck.
Ask the police to sit by your home and watch for this. they cannot refuse assistance!

I like the super glueing towels bit. If you have an alarm, I'd set it. A good loud noise might scare them off.

Take the key away from them.. If there not damaging anything and are running the heater they must have a key....DUH.
