How do you bring the console down in Half-Life 2 Episode one?

I am new at this game and I have the cheat codes, but pushing the button above the tab doesn't do it.

I'm not sure if it is the same as Half Life 2 , but go to options. Then click the keyboard tab on top, after that click the advanced button. Then press Enable developer console (~).



P.S Remember to type sv_cheats 1 before using cheat codes.
