if your laptop has wireless lan there should be a button u push to activate it if u go to internet conections in control panel there should be a wireless network set up or u can go to control panel /system/hardware/device manager and look in network adaptors and if it is wireless it will tell u there if it isnt wireless then u can buy a 54kbps or124kbs network adaptor from argos for £25 and if anyone living close to you has a router and unsecured network you can log on to there netwok for free

Look around the stickers sayin Centrino. If you see that word, you have a wireless computer. Otherwise check connection settings from control panel. If you see wireless connection icon, it means that you have a wireless laptop.
If you dont have you need to buy a wireless adaptor for your laptop. I suggest www.ebuyer.co.uk where you can get it cheap.

most laptops are wireless compatable. but you should have a wireless assitant that wil allow you to see if you are WLAN compatible, or you can configure it that way from the wireless assitant.
Most of the time you don't have to have a wireless card either, as long as you have a wireless connection in range of your computer, you can connect to the internet wirelessly.

my laptop is wireless, and it has a switch that u can flick on and it will activate the wireless internet. if u want internet, u have to buy an ethernet card
