I have worn contacts since they first came out ,and after a while you get used to them. I have the soft lenses that I take out every day and store them in a case.
I just recently bought some glasses as a backup,or at night when I have my contacts in the storage case.
With contacts, you can actually buy a pair of sunglasses ,don't have to defog your glasses when coming in out of the cold weather, don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain with contacts either.
I think contacts are the greatest invention ever, and people would not even know me I don't think if they saw me in a pair of glasses.
Your self image will improve also.
I remember when I first got them,I kept reaching for my nose to lift my glasses ..lol..and I had no glasses I was wearing contacts..lol
That was a little embarrasing. ..
Good luck with them ,and give yourself about 3 days to get used to them.
One negative thing about them is that they dry out if you fly in an airplane for some reason. One reason I bought glasses is because of that and the new airlines rule that you can't bring saline soloution or eye drops on an airplane with you..(stupid rule)
I used to carry eye drops or saline solution on flights to rewet my eyes because they do dry out every now and then.
Don't watch a sad movie with them either, the salt from your tears will ruin your contacts, and be careful if handling hot peppers, whenever I prepare hot peppers for chili,or whatever, the hot stuff gets on your hands and you will infect your eyes..and man does that burn !!!!!..

Depending on what type of correction is needed in your eyes, there are different types of contact lenses available. I have an astigmatism, so I have to wear "toric" lenses. The first pair the doctor had me try were too dry for my eyes. The second brand are the ones I have been wearing for over six years now. So be prepared. The first brand they try may not be right for you. If your eyes feel too dry, like you want to put drops in every hour, then you need a different type. I've never had a problem sticking them in my eyes, but some people do. Once you find the brand that your eyes like, and they're correcting your vision with no eyeglass frames in your way, you'll love wearing contacts. I use a daily cleaner made for senstive eyes from CIBA Vision, and a weekly cleaner as well. Your doctor will recommend the best products for you. Do not sleep with contacts in your eyes, even if they say it's okay. Your eyes need to "breathe," so contacts must be removed each night. I love wearing mine! I don't see any CONS to wearing contacts. Good luck to you!

Pros: - Can't feel them, so it's as if you have perfect vision - Makes you look better - No one can see them - You can see all around with perifferal vision, unlike with glasses where you see the glasses and can't see to the sides and up and down -Great for sports and can't get broken like glasses can in a sport Cons: - May take a while to learn to put in - Can sometimes get dry at night - Highers risk for infection - More expensive - Can rip if not carefully handled I WEAR CONTACTS. I would definitely go for them. Good luck!

well the pros are that you won't have to wear glasses which is an awesome feeling, trust me i think i went way too long without contacts and i don't miss my glasses at all..their kind of expensive although it is a year supply it can be pricey..the cons is that they tend to get dry after a while which makes your vision kinda blurry so carry eye drops, you can't wear too much eye makeup because some of it will get in the contact, and you can't wear them contantly, you need to give your eyes a rest so don't wear them around the house..other than getting the hang of putting them on i don't think you'll find any big problems..you'll love them! :)

Pros:
No need for glasses
You can get them in color
Cons:
Its just like putting a piece of plastic on your eye.
You always get dust in your eye
The contact lense will move around often... causing you to have to take it out a put it back in
If you sleep with them in, your eyes will be irritated in the morning
Its really easy to lose them in the water.

Pros - You can see with them, you won't have to wear glasses anymore
Cons - It can be very tough to get used to putting them in (I had contacts, but I could never get used to putting them in (it would take 20 min per eye), so I finally gave up)

Pros:
Stylish
Won't break like glasses
Comfortable
No one knows you have them
Easy to replace
Cons:
Can be hard to get used to
Can fall out
Can dry out
Can tear
Overall, getting contacts was one of the best decisions I ever made. They take some time to get used to, but they are amazing and effective once you do so!
