That recall was probably due to the EXPLODING BATTERIES problem. I am glad to hear that yours did not BLOW UP.

It sounds to me that the charging circuit has burned out, inside the laptop. You should contact DELL and describe the problem as you wrote here. This would require service.

Try to send the new cord BACK, but be prepared to send your notebook, battery and original cord to Dell for this service. You might even get a price from DELL, so you know what it will cost.

Just remember that a new computer would cost between $700 and $1200. If your Dell Computer is older than 3 years old, don't spend too much more than $400 to fix it. You see, if a laptop lasts 7 years, and new one costs $100 per year over the life of it. But if you have only 4 years left, you would not want to spend more than $400 to make it last those 4 remaining years. You would be better off with NEW. (It's a MATH sort of thing).

Good luck and Happy Computing!

lol i like the vast difficultcontinual interior the sky area. shifting the pc or adjusting the reveal and it shuts down is a hardware subject unreleated to battery or skill grant. It appears like some thing is tangled up. i've got had that take place to a working laptop or pc earlier. Hardware subject. touch dell for an RMA (wish it extremely is nevertheless below guarantee). i've got self assurance it extremely is a unfastened ribbon cable or some thing. while you're soft with establishing the laptop take it aside and consider the ribbon cables verify no longer something got here unfastened.
