A friend of mine has just moved into a house in Ireland (Nr Dublin) with some work friends. He phoned me this morning to tell me that one of the other guys had found a carrier bag of blood (I'm not joking) in his bathroom with several messages on referring to warding off bad spirits.
Does anyone know if this is some kind of custom that the landlord/lady does when people move into a new house?

Thats not an Irish custom. Thats a lunatic. Never heard of it before. Maybe that explains the used tampons i found at my mate Daves house.

No, that's really weird, I've never heard of that and I'm Irish. I think your friend should call the police, the house might have been the scene of a crime.

When new people move in the custom is, to have a house warming party.
There's only ever blood if there is a fight.
So no, that sounds more like voodoo.

not an Irish custom ... but putting salt on the front and back step is as that is meant to keep bad/evil spirits away
