When you do c - 4 > 2 do you add 4 to each side, making it c > 6?

Yes, that would be accurate. Logically, think about it. C has to be greater than 2 after you subtract 4 from it. Therefore, C MUST be greater than 6 because 6-4=2. So anything greater than six-4 would be greater than 2.
