I like character actors/actresses because they play more interesting parts than regular actors/actresses. I wondering if there are more than just Johnny Depp because I definitely know he is a character actor. Include ONE movie too that this character actor/actress portrayed in, especially where they really became their character.

Most characters actor are well known. Cherry Jones is awesome, I just saw her in a play and she was amazing ( Tony, award winner, by the way. But if you want famous actors who are kind of character actors I'd say: Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet. Note that most of the actors I listed are British, I think because the Brits have such a strong theater community, there actors are more inclined to take on character roles as opposed to Leading Actor roles. The above mentioned people are chameleons, which is at the root of character acting.
