i took a class and it didn't work for me.. maybe its cause i was in a class with people i know and we never paid attention to the teacher. I had a higher test score by doing the "Question of the day" on college board.com, where they have a different question everyday and i used the "Kaplan 12 SAT Practice Tests" and "The Official SAT Book by college board.com" The books were 10 times better than the stupid classes.

I took the SATs 2 times. First i used the class and scored below average. The second time i used the books and question of the day and i scored 300 points higher on the second SATs.

I used Kaplan's SAT 2006 Ed. It was actually what we used in my class, but I honestly didn't pay much attention to the teachers because I'm pretty sure they didn't exactly know what they were doing. But the book had tons of practice tests along with a list of roots of words and things that can help you with vocab, and what they called "math traps," so that you don't get tricked by the writers of the SAT. 'Twas pretty helpful.

get the "official SAT study guide" from the college board. they're the ones who write the test, and their practice tests are real. that book was the only thing i used to study, and i did very well on the test.
