If your lower abdomen tightens as you feel the cramping, then it is called braxton-hicks contractions. These braxton-hicks are just slight contractions that are working your abdominal muscles and uterus to get ready for birth (just another sign that you are almost there!).
If you do not feel tightening when you feel the cramping, and if the cramping is any stronger than what period cramping should feel like, call you OB/GYN immediately! If these cramps are accompanied by bleeding also, call your OB/GYN!
Cramping and tightening of the uterus is perfectly normal, so stay calm and enjoy the braxton-hicks (eek--I say that, because I'm only about 8 weeks pregnant and not experiencing the braxton-hicks YET!)

call your obgyn right away, i had paralyzing cramps during my 34 week, and it turns out i had a kidney infection, the doctor gave me some painkillers and antiobiotics, and three hours later i was fine...and dont worry if he prescribes painkillers, i took them and my baby turned out fine ( more than fine, he's a little ball of energy and in the top percintile in everything) you need to get checked out because if your body is in distress the baby could be in distress. The way my doctor determined it was my kidney was he took an ultrasound and found that it wasnt my baby that was the problem ( because i wouldnt feel it if the baby was in pain ) it was me and my organs.... So Get going call the doctor so you can get your much needed rest

I would go to labor and delivery beacuse it is happening every 15 min aprox, and that sounds like contractions to me a lower abdomen once in a while is fine due to ligaments stretching but 4 times every hour I would go to their office and have a check up you don't loose anything and you will be worry free!

Its the Braxton Hicks...your body is preparing you for when labor actually comes...so just breath through them...call your ob anyway but its not really that serious until you lose that mucus plug...then thats when the fun begins...Good luck with your little one!

could be braxton hicks contrctions, i would watch them, time them, wait like 2 hours with timing them. what you are looking for is if they are coming like every 5-10 minutes and lasting 30-60 seconds. those could be contractions.
when i was 30 wks prego i had braxton hicks for 5 hours every 15 minutes..... then it went away.
try drinking lots of water too!
good luck!

no don't get worked up - nothing is wrong - could be muscle fatigue or simply dehydration - are you taking plenty of fluids - if not do so - fresh fruits and juices should really help - you can also get some home remedies at - http://aches.in/cramps.html
