No complainers please....you live here very comfortably so don't say that democracy doesn't work because it does. And if it one day doesn't it's because you voted for it!!!

At first I was like, huh? The Middle Eastern people that live where I do are always very polite and friendly.. but for those who still live in their countries.. if I had such a radical overhaul on my government, I would be too..

Middle east? Do they still call it that? Where the hell is the middle east... ?? You can't have the middle of east... could you have a middle west? or a middle north.. or a middle south.. hmm..

Nah im just kidding..

I'm an Arab.. and I'm not irritable.. and most middle-easterners aren't irritable at all.. Maybe the few that you have seen have been.. but generally the middle east is known for its hospitality towards their guests.

I don't think that they could adopt a democratic system.. simply because it is a foreign form of government... If people don't like the policies they could leave... however, many people find that the policies work for them and their families.

They might also be irritable (if they actually are) because people are trying to force the "west" on them... which isn't a completely bad idea, especially after seeing Syriana...

Middle Easterners in general were not irritable. Now who can blame them for being angry after our "intelligent" president forced a democracy on them. Forcing democracy sounds like an oxymoron. Democracy doesn't work for everyone. Maybe instead of posting questions here you can actually talk to a Middle Easterner and see how they felt.

they're not. No, they are not going adopt a completely foreign policy. what all of the right-winged republicans need to understand is that IRAQ was based on a cast system for over 1000 years. The only reason why people were shouting for joy when we kicked Hussein out was because they thought that their party would be on top. they had no plans of adopting a democracy half of the people don't even know what it is. T The u.s. itself is not a democracy its a capitalist country.

Adopt or rammed down their throat? You cannot impose a democracy upon a people and expect it to be embraced or to last.

If you want democracy to flourish in a region, then you should try to create conditions favorable to democracy. But the populace itself must want to have a democratic government. The process will be slow, but much likelier to last versus having it imposed on them.

I would be irritable too if I was born in the middle of a violent desert and my society was hell bent on not progressing past the dark ages. I would also be a bit touchy that my country was run by some insane, uneducated preacher, more concerned with covering women's ankles than feeding their children. But hey, that's just me.

The Muslims are resentful because they were screwed over by the murderous Christian Crusaders and they have long memories and still talk about it and make sure their children know the history. The Jews are really messed up by the racist myth of special privilege they think was promised to them and the delusion that they have some kind of "right" to steal other people's lands and make "n*gg*rs' of the peoples of Palestine.

They can adopt a Democratic system if they want to.

Another question would be: can the USA implement their socalled democratic system in other people's countries --- if they cannot even make it work in their own country?

Let a country bully you into their policies. You would be irritated too. If America stop bulling middle east and third world countries. We could have friends and not so many enemies.
