why are rugby shorts so short?! some of them are almost up to their crotch. showing their whole thighs. is there a certain purpose for having them so short or is it just what they stick with kuz its wut they were taught?

Short shorts and tight shirts mean there is less material for them to be grabbed by when being tackled by an opponent. It also impresses the girls.

I saw some shorts at world rugby shop that were longer that I wanted to order just for that reason.

Those short cut shorts were in in the 60s and 70s (look at footage of US basketball players from those periods) but they are not doin it right now.

I love how short the players shorts are nothing better than seeing a strong rugby player showing off his big bulge in those nylon rugby shorts. Mmmmmmm

I think you're talking about rugby league rather than union. Shorts in union tend to be reasonably long - they're certainly different to the silky nylon skimpies worn by league players..

Regulation rugby union shorts tend to be roughly the length of the ones shown in this photograph.

I am a rugby player, and I hate those damn shorts. I don't understand why they have to be that short, but that is the standard kit so we all just use it

i know, those shorts are too short. But I guess it's so that people don't have much to grab onto to tackle you
