I'm not crazy about my voice, although I am grateful to be able to speak when others can't.
Now that I've humbled myself, I can get back to why I don't like the sound of my voice: I grew up on Long Island and have that heavy duty accent. People tell me all the time that I sound like "The Nanny" (too bad they don't tell me I have her figure or her $$ !). Other times, people ask me if I'm from either the Bronx, Brooklyn, or New Jersey, which makes me feel I should be wearing spandex, teased hair, and crackin' bubble gum!
But, here's the irony: for over 13 years I was a successful telesales rep selling educational materials. I called all over the country, and everyone loved my voice because it was so trusting, knowledgeable and friendly! For many people in remote areas, we used to joke that I was about as close to The Big Apple that they'll ever get!
Go figure?! So, I guess my voice isn't as annoying as I think it is. We just recently moved down South, so maybe after a few years I'll have a "hybrid" voice and be the only one who can say "Y'all have a real nice day." with a Long Island twang!!

I have a little voice. When I hear myself recorded I sound like Minnie Mouse, especially when I sing. I'm 25 but if you heard me over the phone you would probably think I was 12.

Yes, I like the sound of my own voice, took some getting use to, but now that I have heard it so much, I know what to change about it if I am being a critic about it. Good question.

Yes, I have heard myself recorded, and I do like the sound of my voice. The first time I heard myself recorded, I didn't know that it was me singing, and I actually said... "Wow... that woman has a nice voice... who is that?" Very embarrassing.
I like my voice, but I sure don't sound like I do in my head. Don't fret... some things keep us young :)

I love my voice. It's kind of low and smooth which my parents say is a sign of good breeding. However, if I start to lie or get in an argument my voice gets amazingly high and squeaky. I also laugh like a hyena.

My first office job was for a regional division office in human resources. The company had just transferred from Chicago to ATL. My company sent me for diction lessons to 'lose the accent'. I had 2 distinct ways of speaking for many years, but now I use a 'blended' version. My strongest emotions and attachments still remain with my 'original dialect'.

Yeah, I love my voice, but I don't cut people off, usually I'm the one who's quiet and let others talk.

~Yeah, I hate my voice to. I recorded it on my pc and thought it sounded pretty stupid. Hard to explain it but I didn't enjoy it at all.
LOL I was recently going to a chiropractor and I called him a few times for appointments and he knew who I was right away. I asked him if he had caller ID or some sh*t. He's like naa, your voice is pretty distinctive.
:-) O well, nothing we can do about our voices!
