Self injuring releases endorphines and adrenaline in your system. I've been a self injurer for 8 years now. I haven't cut in over a year, but I still refer to myself as a self injurer because I think their will always be a part of me that needs it, whether I do it or not. I know what you are going through. If you'd like to talk about this more you can email me at syndie_in_disguise@hotmail.com or find me on myspace (myspace.com/indiepal). I could tell you not to do it, but I know when people would tell me that, it pissed me off and made me want to do it more. But if you'd like to talk to someone who knows what you are gong through and understands, I'm always willing to give tips and hints of how I manage not to when I feel the need.

first of all you shouldn't do this. This is a serious problem and should be treated for this by a doctor.

It's addictive because cutting is like a drug. It makes you feel better so you want to do it more. It realises endorphins which is why it makes you feel better.

In the long run it'll make you feel worse, you'll be covered in scars that remind you of the bad experiences you have had in the past.

Please talk to your doctor or a friend or a family member

You're addicted to the relief of the pain/stress. You found a way to feel better and sure you want to feel it again. Go straight to your doc for a reference to get help. My friend got help for her cutting, but too late because now she has scars all over her body, and she always wishes she'd gotten a good therapist earlier

It probably has something to do with your body's reaction or something. Not sure. But please, find a doctor or someone that can help you, it's not good to cut. There's other ways to release stress. Play some games, listen to music.

When you cut, it hurt so your mind basically stop worry about other problems and pay attention to the cuts.

I'd say it's because it's a cry for help. That, and you're emo.
