I was listening to the radio a few weeks ago and a guy called in saying that he tells his kids that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny...etc aren't real. Then he goes as far as not celebrating any holidays at all. He said it had nothing to do with religion, he just doesn't want to lie to his kids or have to worry about celebrating holidays. I found this odd and was wondering what ya'lls thoughts were.

It's a little too "soul-killing" for my taste. Let the kids have their fun for as long as they can, you know? They shouldn't have to have it be ruined just because of some guy who wanted to supposedly "not lie" to kids.

Just what I think.

I agree with that guy. Celebrating holidays are now becoming a burden to society and christmas and the easter bunny is fairy tale and are not real as he said. There should be some reforms as to holidays.

i agree with it...it's hearbreaking for a kid to find out there is no santa claus or easter bunny or anything...it takes the magic away...i dont plan on lying to my kids about it...however i will always celebrate holidays...

Talk about crushing the spirits of children. That's just totally wrong. He porbably had alot of bad experiences in his childhood and wanted to take it out on his kids. Plus, he's probably too damn cheap and doesn't want to do anything for his kids.

No. l know how you feel. My sister happen to belong in a religion here in our country that celebrate only their birthday and new year. The rest are nothing to them.

Well, really can't change them if that is their belief.
