Hi,
I have my surface mounted electrical panel mounted on my 3/8 plywood wall of my addition. I would like to use the punch out holes on the back, feeding the wires from the interior right through the plywood into the unit. I have the metal holes punched out, and the plywood cut. What is kind of connector should I use on the panel? Thanks for your time

Cut the hole in the plywood larger so the lock nut and bushing connect to the metal panel and not to the plywood.Use the lock
nut and bushing for your type of panel box. If this is in a wet/damp
area use weatherproof pressure connector.Make sure panel is
secured tight to plywood.

For 12 and 14 ga. Romex wire to outlets and switches, you should use standard Romex clamps.

The clamps are a 2 piece assembly: unscrew the ring from the clamp, install the clamp inside your panel, then screw the ring on the clamp in the back or side of the panel. Pull your wire thru the clamp, allow sufficient enough length to run to your circuit breakers, and tighten both screws to hold the cable from moving.

Romex clamps are available to fit in 1/2", 3/4", 1" and larger diameter knock-outs. For the primary power cables, you use 1" or larger Romex clamps.
