ok look this is simple just tell your parents to talk to the teacher! I don't think the teacher has the right to force you to do anything you don't want to! i mean, what's the point of doing something when you hate it?? it will just be a waste of time!

Try to accomplish more on the council. Showing that you were on student council will look very nice when you apply for colleges. Quitting doesn't look good on your transcripts. It might come up as a red flag that you won't be able to handle a difficult course load.

While he cannot keep you from quitting an extracurricular activity, you should stick around anyway. You should change the student counsel by starting new initiatives. Start some projects that you and the other students would like or benefit from. If your adviser won't help you, go to another teacher or the principal for support.

I am in student council too. I feel the same way. We don't do ANYTHING. I signed up for this to help my school out...and look good on my college app. but...I think that even though you don't wanna do it you should stick through it because you committed to it. If you wanna look good&&responcible then quitting is not the answer. I hate it and I want to quit but I know I commited and that I'll stick through to the end. GOOD LUCK!

Join something else that meets the same time as student council? Or bring up this topic at student council - tell everyone that nothing is talked about and that's a serious problem.

Student Council is an extra curricular activity and a voluntary activity. The teacher has no authority to say you cannot quit. You cannot be forced to stay. Tell him/her that. If that doesn't work, have a parent write a note.

Yes, alot actually. Best advice is to not give into those feelings. Go do something. Doesn't have to be constructive or motivating, just get up and go do something. Of course, if you drink 5 20oz Mountain Dew's this wont be a problem.

Didnt you run for election to this post? Arent you responsible for representing other peoples interests? I think that if you dont want to be on the student council next year then dont run but you were elected and accepted the job - its your responsibility to finish it.

Tell your mum and dad to write a note to the school, and say, you no longer want to be in this council
