The Detroit Red Wings because think about it they have come in first the past few years and didnt make it past the first round. Now this year they are sitting fourth at the all start break and are steadily increasing they lead if they end up 2nd or 3rd in the west look out for them to be a very good playoff team. especially i know most people r like well hasek wont take thm far in the playoffs but u have to think even though he is old he is a playoff goaltender he knows how to make good stops whn his team needs thm especially in the playoffs and yes he is overrated a lil bit but he has been in the top spot for goals agains average until recently. he is a great goaltender nomatter wut people say he could keep tht team in any game and give the wings a very good chance to win the cup.

ill start with the Eastern Conference:
Buffalo Sabres: with there speed will help but up againts a team that can skate and with a good goalie the Sabres will fall short.
New Jersey Devils: dangerous team can score and what can you say about Martin Brodeur, if his hot the Cup could be in New Jersey this year.
Atlanta Trashers: not enough experience and a very young goalie will be nocked out.
Montreal Canadiens: have the heart and never gives up, will be a very though team to play againts and if Huet is hot and no big injuries on the team the Habs can give a good shot at the cup.
Western Conference:
Nashville Preds: not though enough mentaly to go all the way.
Anaheim Ducks: with Pronger and Niedermayer they will be a though team to beat this two will be on the ice almost every minute of the game, and if Giguere can come back to form as he was the last time the Ducks made the finals. so you can see them in the finals.
Detroit Red Wings: great young team up front will have the same problem scoring goals as last year the defence is top notch and will show up, but the big ? is will Hasek be healthy come playoff time.
Calgary Flames: playing great and once Kipper gets really going then they could be a dangerouse team come playoffs.
my guess is Devils vs Ducks stanley cup finals
teams i want to see in the stanley cup finals is a rematch of the 89 stanley cup Canadiens vs the Flames but this time the Habs win the cup.
manatee_c...>>>you say Toronto hasnt adapted to the new NHL well before the new NHL there where still a crappy team.
GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

First thing is GO LEAFS GO! The leafs need a grinder. Buffalo will not win becasue they have no grit same with Thrashers. I am going to predict the Habs( EWWWW). In the West It is hared I woud like to see Vancouver or the Oilers again.

Buffalo will choke and they will choke hard. As for who do I think will win the Cup, it's purely a toss-up. Take a look at the last couple of years. No one saw Tampa Bay will win it in the beginning of that year's playoffs, and the same goes for Carolina. I do hope that any Canadian team will win it this year though. Just my two cents.
Go Leafs.

i'm a great Colts fan additionally and each little thing is calling sturdy outdoors of a putrid first quarter the day previous whilst Denver ran everywhere in the D. Dungy mentioned that Addai is okay and Harrison could desire to be returned for the offense. If Morris or Sanders is out long term (extraordinarily Sanders), the D could desire to truly go through. permit's wish they're all ok. particular, New England seems a actual undertaking this 12 months and with a bit of luck the Colts will proceed their present day achievement over New England. November 4th could desire to be exciting.

It'll definately be either Aneheim out of the West. The east I see as either the Sabres or Montreal. I personally think that Buffalo will NOT choke and they will play Aneheim. I think that Buffalo is too fast and has too good goaltending to lose 4 out of 7 games to any team.

The leafs were one of my favorites for a while. The sad thing is they haven't adapted to the new NHL... the Hurricanes did, and they won the cup.
Watch out for Anaheim. Buffalo WILL choke, I don't even see them making it to the finals.

Montreal Canadiens...Number 1 thing you need to win playoff games is good goaltending, they have that with huet and aebi. Number 2 thing you need to win playoff games is good special teams, and Montreal is the best in the league in that.
